I played a fire ele because I ENJOYED it. Changing to Water/Earth would not be as fun (for me) as a different character class. Didn't they tell us that any was you chose to play could be viable, if only you had the skill to use it well? No longer true.
lol so you left a game because you had to play a certian build. that was the current state of pve. you had to play with a monk, ele, or war to get a party easily.

now you don't like the game b/c now you have to change the build. LOL, so what exactly do you want? When you get it will you complain about that.

this isn't too much of a change and the bugs will be worked out. the devs can make w/e changes they want to when every they want to. if it doesn't work out they way they wanted to then it will be changed. you can't be completely sure they ment for 1 shot AOE spells to be affected by the AI. you change one thing you get something unexpected. it is way too early to judge how much of a change this will be. from what i've played it hasn't changed much.

the thing that gets me is that people are complaining about them foes RUNNING. are you kidding me!!!! if they are running they are not attacking you or trying to chase you down. so now all my aoe skills have turned into don't attack me for 10 seoncds. don't see a downside here since majority of ele spells are ranged.

best nukers on game are not even ele. get over and learn new tricks.

Just killed two Charr with Frozen Burst. I like this. The monsters do things similar to what we do, and people who want to scatter battalions can do so without much of a fight.

Keep them coming, NCSoft.

They ruined this game??

I fail to see how this update affects my Mesmer in PvE at all. Hell, I'm sure most Necros aren't even affected by this. Someone above mention Zealot's Fire is pretty much a "go away" card for Monks now.

So who's complaining? The fire Ele's, and only the fire Ele's. Oh, and the farmers. I'll admit I used my Me/Mo to farm a little, but I'm not addicted to it like some seem to be.

Now Warriors and Rangers will have to cripple/knockdown. An elementalist will have to Deep Freeze while another elementalist uses fire nukes. Now Mesmers will have to carry Imagined/Ethereal Burden.

OH MY GOD, TEAMWORK, HOW DARE THEY TRY TO MAKE IT PART OF THE GAME.

I say good update, ANet. Keep 'em coming.

BTW, I play PvE exclusively, and I have an ele. I still love it.

People complain PvE is to easy, that the AI is to stupid and incapable of being the least bit challenging. The AI gets a buff allowing to escape its probably biggest weakness, being retarded and standing in AoE effects. PvE gets harder as a result, and you complain.

People in GW like to complain when the game (PvE end) gets harder in any aspect, they also like to complain when it doesn't.

Maybe the reason was Anet wants to weed the population out. I mean playing the game is bandwidth, bandwidth cost money, spending money is never fun. So Anet pushes this out, makes people leave, bandwidth goes down, Anet makes more money. There the supply and demand. Anet wants to drive the people away that have finished the game over and over, because they are the ones costing them money now. Think of it You buy the game. pay your money and Anet has a built in cost of that game for bandwidth. You exceed your bandwidth limit they built in because you play for days and days. now they need to get rid of the ones costing them money, not the new poeple who do not buy the game tommorrow or the next day, because Anet will make the moneyt from them, thats until they need to run them off. I for one am switching to WOW even if it costs me monthly.

Thanks

I don't think that ANet entire goal was to wreck farming. I think they did it to make the game more realistic.

The longer it takes to go through the game, the ok beat game what's next will be longer.

It forces players to be smarter in game that advertises skill vs grind.

They have stated over and over again this is a game with both elements of PvE and PvP. It also helps prepare you to be more realistic about PvP.

It opens up different character skills, forces more focus fire.

The ones this won't affect are the people that don't use AOE or new players.

People are getting ticked that the game difficulty got turned up and lot of people just don't like changes anyway. I play pure fire ele, this affect me directly the changes. If I don't like ele anymore, will try another job. The one who adapt will be killer ele still.

PvP Player go throught this a lot with FOTM builds.

farming IMHO is not nerfed at all, if any thing it's easier(i have my reasons) but now my warrior farms with warrior skills not monk aoe's. and it seems it's alot easier.

so all in all i think people will be a lil more creative.... "hopefully"

this seems counter to our thoughts since we tend to be a very loyal game base and many of us had played diablo for FIVE YEARS PLUS... yet every patch seems to have an impact at farming... by reducing farming you in effect increase the EULA violations ( more people will now buy from e-bay sellers because its now difficult to gather any real quantity of gold to buy armors and dyes) remember the 25+ crowd have money.. we're are mostly professionals who own homes and play on-line games because well TV sucks...dont you want our money?
I TOTALLY agree. A lot of the time, you don't want to sit down for hours on end, specifically for one task i.e., missions, PVP, the sorts of things that require your undivided time and attention. It's fun just to be able to take a break from life, chill out, and go see what you can get in a few runs in farming. It's almost like they are totalitarians now, and we have to do what they say is ok to do, or what the set the boundaries to do. I on the other hand, enjoyed sitting down for 15 minutes at a time, as well as doing the longer quests. Mixing it up is good. After all, like other people have said, doing the same mission, which never changes, dozens of times gets really boring. I really hope they do something to fix it, at least just find some balance.

Few Questions:
- I know it works on things like Meteor Shower and Firestorm.

- Does it really make things spread from Balt's Aura, Symbol of Wrath, Zealot's Fire and such? Darn..its harsh if it does.

- Most importantly to me..Does it effect the monsters when I use Barrage bow attack?

The reaction of so many to this patch can be summed up in so few words...

CHANGE!?!@??!??@!!! OMFG THE SKY IS FALLING!!! THE SKY IS FALLING!!!!! OMFG!!!

Good Lord, ADAPT. Changes happen in every game, and no change is going to please everyone. Regardless of the changes, theres very little that the devs can actually change that the players have NO ability to cope with by changing tactics... Yes I know, for those poor picked on farmers it means they may need to do something other than what they've been doing over and over and over... the sky is falling....

Seriously... the overreaction is pretty amusing. Adjust, adapt, develop new strategies. Just because you can't "echo nuke" everything in the game now doesn't mean that it's the end of the world.

For example, use the scattering effect against them. Drop AoE's to temporarily break aggro. If your warrior is getting pummeled, drop a Firestorm around him to buy him a second to catch his breath. Use rangers to put traps around to damage them as they run. Warriors can use things like Bull Strike to actually hurt things now. Try to look at possibilities that have been opened, not old ones that have been closed.
